This is a list of the best healing gear for priests who only raid casually, if at all.
- This list includes gear from: quests, crafting, instances, heroic instances, Karazhan, Gruul’s, Mag’s Lair, Zul’Aman, and badge rewards.
- It does not include PvP rewards. It does not include gear from old world high-end raids or world bosses (Naxx, AQ40, etc.) .
- Items are ranked according to their potential from sockets (I assumed rare gems). Item procs are taken into account. Item set-bonuses are not, except where explicitly noted.
- I assumed that on-use effects from trinkets are used to their maximum potential and that procs occur at their average rate.
- I tried to include as few “damage” items as possible, but given that some slots have very limited itemization if you are not a tailor, I had to dip into that pool a bit.
- I did not include “damage” crafts when there were better straight “healing” crafts available with similar mats (Whitemend vs. Spellstrike, for instance).
- High level BoE crafts are included, as they can be obtained through an AH of for $$$.
Remember: Gearing is a balancing act, so you have to consider your overall gear when looking at upgrades. Just because something is listed as better, does not mean it is better for every situation or play style. Think of this as just one giant list of suggestions.

Items ranked using a formula (stats weights: .15 stam / .2 int / .35 spirit / 1 mp5 / .03 spell crit / .25 heal / .1 spell haste). Bonuses, unique effects, and trinkets are all rated on a conversion system to the aforementioned stats, and then ranked.
When should you break Whitemend set?
You can break Whitemend if can get Hood of the Third Eye and either Achromic Trousers of the Naaru, Pantaloons of Repentence, or Pontifex Kilt.
When should you break Primal Mooncloth set?
If you can get Robes of Heavenly Purpose and something else from content higher than Gruul/Mag/Zul’Aman (namely T5).

IMHO Voodoo Shaker is clearly the best Off-Hand, especially as the spirit bonus compensates the +healing difference to the “better” ones
